  • éliminer celles déjà vues ;
  • éliminer celles dont les contenus ne correspondait pas aux mots clés voulus ;

  • Je vais avoir très souvent des offres PHP, java ou autres sans rapport avec mes compétences ;

  1. Elle ne dédoublonne pas ;
  2. par expérience de 15 ans de programmation toute documentation mal écrites dans la langue du pays est à chier. La documentation de l'API pole emploi est en franglais. Je parle bien anglais et français, je conchie le franglais ;

  • des qualifications non adaptées ;
  • "pour le compte d'un grand client", "SSII", "INTERIM" ;
  • gestion du stress ;

A quoi ressemble mon outil ?

H = k x ln(données_présentées_pertinentes/ensemble_donnée)

Frameworks are tools for monkeys not needed by fishes

TL; DR

Frameworks are scuba gears made for monkeys that love to climb the height of complication.
Some other kind of developers are like fishes that feel naturally at ease with swimming in the water of the problem at hand, without requiring frameworks.
Coders who can and prefer to swim and are infuriated at the absurdity of being a fish trapped in a scuba gear.
Prelude: I kind of refer to this quote mis-attributed to Einstein.

Once upon a time

People did write their code by reinventing the wheel and it was crap.

So people decides to mutualize their code and it was good.

When it was small pieces of code it was called library, when it was bigger it was called frameworks.

To be an honest liar nothing distinguishes a library from a framework except the name given to it.

Stuff like openSSL were called library by the idiots, but a crypto framework by others (that may have written libressl). OpenSSH use to rely on it for everything except opening ssl tunnel which was the use the monkeys were seeing it could do.

Industry/fashion soon decided that the difference between framework and libraries were the size and the «genericity of the bousin». Bousin is a norman word that is totally legit in en_UK.

Of monkeys and fishes

I strictly don't understand why but when the wise points the moon, the monkey look at the concept of the moon when the wise just point at the moon.

You see frameworks don't exist. And when people see them, they think they are complicated stuff. Don't blame them, they have been studying and passing exams.

Most educated yet idiots think a complex idea must be complicated.

So they want to prove better than others and climb the mountain of the problem as a monkey and be the king of the hill. Showing off basically.

If coders where musicians it would be the difference between the stupid one playing simple pentatonic because it is easy to learn and master and the other one making a religion of it.

What makes music sound great is not your virtuosity (playing like Steve Vai, Ingwie Malmsteem, Satriano) it is your musicality (BB king).

It is not how much complex concepts and how much notes per seconds you can play, it is music.

Virtuous coders/musicians are like monkey, they love heights. They don't understand music, but like nerds they want to prove they can handle complicated things.

Complex is a lot of simple things put up together making a stuff. Complicated is the same thing but with the idea some powder of it works by magic making the result immutable. Complication vs complexity is in the eye of the one watching.

A monkey will see the framework as a tree that makes you reach new height. The monkey will tell you : you don't have to understand just put yourself on the giant's shoulders. The fish is different : he swims in the turbid waters.

So monkeys love frameworks as ladders bringing him to new heights that have never been reached before, thinking you can grow trees on trees to make a way to reach higher height, thus the moon.

But sometimes, your problem are not higher. They are just about getting to the food for less effort in turbid water. Getting the job done.

Making a SPA (Single Page Application) is not about using react, angular, or WTF. It is about making a web page able to load states that are stored in a database (be it a filesystem, a RDBMS, a noSQL shit, or memory) and then make the HTML page reflect this state and give you way to change the state of the application inside a Finiste State Machine through calls.

The fish just remember that a ssh connection might do the job better, but his project manager want it to be a nice HTML web page, so he does whatever he is asked, because the one who pays is always right.

The monkey have read there is a framework for doing it, so he does not care. He tries to put all his use case inside the constraint of the holy framework. He knows the manager reads some papers so he does not question authority.

There is a difference between accepting your managers are stupid and embracing the stupidity of your management in order to keep your job.

The monkey climb the Everest of the stupidity to please management. The fish just try to do the job and eventually use frameworks.

But for a fish frameworks are no trees, they are just scuba gears: they let monkeys evolve in the turbid waters of programming. We all are blind in these waters.

Every frameworks are like an additional part of a scuba gear that makes you less agile as a fish, more encumbered with rigidity.

Does rigidity makes you agile when you already know the ways?

Not really. But you are judged by monkeys fearing water and wanting to be dry as a loveless cunt while diving.

Computers are ugly, they are limited by ... science. e = mc² is everywhere.

Even the number of cycles required to access information is limited by the speed of light.

Monkey coders think that the limit of science will/are being broken by giants on which shoulders they stand. They name their giants with name like CAP, ACID, distributed/graphs database machine learning and they think that once they know the name of a problem the problem have been solved by pushing more frameworks to the problem.

The fish is stupid.

He just sees framework as constraints, scuba gears and think there must be way, but that putting a fish in scuba gear will not make him solve the problem and that monkeys are really not the most able animals for the job.

Can there be ethic coding nowadays?

I am a coder. I live in a state that recently took the direction of USA in terms of doing what Snowdens revealed: mass surveillance and automated opinion tagging on the public space.

The question is can we code and look ourselves in a mirror every morning without disgust?

I have taken part in ethical coding of big brothers tools for call-centers.

Do I feel proud? I should not care according to my peers.

Well, I have been searching for jobs recently and what I am proposed is very often revolving about the same topics:
  • surveillance of work hours and profitability of the employee with poor or no respect of legal obligations of employers;
  • profiling for marketing (can also be used for mass surveillance);
  • automated troll caving of any aggressive persons on a forum (because disagreeing is a sign of being bad, m'okay?);
  • Xross Site Tagging of internet users;
  • frameworks development for doing all of the above.

(I do insist there are some  good job offers in the flow of crap)

Of course, since I am supposed to be a bitter old coding troll I miraculously have been an ethical coder. I could say I chose to be a virtuous ethical coder.

I am not. I want to have hot water, heating and some place I call my own. I need to feed my family and rent a place that in a 30 km center around this place require an healthy 60k€/year. So being a mover will not make it.

Is it ethical to let my family in misery because I have principles? Well, at least it looks cool. That's how to be a flamboyant looser. I actually did not chose. I am just socially inept. That is who I am and I am okay with it.

But since I am a blatant troll I prefer for the fun to victimize and point a finger by asking a question:

Are unethical coding topic the only one that brings value to the share holders?

Well, could banks, VC, government make of coding a good use?

Green energy?

A vast joke: max electric power on the grid is required when no wind nor sun provides energy and we do not know how to store efficiently with a reasonable safety and costs. And battery production is resource bound. Green energies are just a mirage. Power demand is constantly going up (notably thanks to e-commerce and computers), while power production grows less. We may face in the coming decades power blackout in the G20 countries. But X said the opposite and he has figures.... Let me doubt it.

Automated tax collection to avoid fiscal inequity?

Garbage In, Garbage Out : fucked laws make fucked up rules that are un-codable.

Privacy to avoid surveillance?

On this one I am a convinced lutherian; if you do not need to commit a crime you need no privacy and if you fear your government, well going down in the street might prove more useful than writing code. Even for talking. Internet is not the place to foment a revolution. It is a nice place for mocking the world, though.

Multi purpose robots?

The industrial revolution based on automation have always resulted in removing from the market the economical actors that were not granted the money from their bank to buy automats resulting in a winner take all scheme while the poorest sunk in misery and the middle sized actors enter a spiral of taking series of immoral loans from the bank. Like a modern peasant in France. Capitalism centric economy are anti-liberal and results in more concentration.

Profiling?

Profiling always has the best intentions at heart and poor production. Even the best coders forget the law of using filters: filter have false positive and false negative. There will always be people that are wrongfully tagged «positive» and you will always miss some of your target. Efficient filters are based on the acceptable costs of failure. Marketing can fail, it is okay. Counter-terrorism based on profiling is a very stupid idea. And maybe it is better to remove the roots of dissatisfaction from a society (discrimination, inequity, poverty) than to spend money on detecting the person that are dissatisfied. Especially that Europe is not very far from electing people like Trump, Putin or Erdogan in the next years. You want to explain to someone like Erdogan that he might wrongfully ruin the life of thousands of people while he has a solid list of 10 times bigger accurate opponents being known? Please show me how Erdogan, Putin care about the costs of false positive with a profiling that catches 90% opponents accurately. Remember in Europa a growing number of future president/PM will tend to be Trump/Putin/Erdogan like. Just think about it. Yes, we can also prevent Vascular Accident alike. Or improve medical diagnostic, that requires ... a lot of centralized information. This is a double edged sword and I don't think our society is mature enough for radical transparency. We all wanked, and who is okay for having it officially known? The problem is the christian culture of guilt here. I am a convinced guiltless atheist on this one.

3D printing?

Hum, much more interesting. In fact no. KPEX is not the only problem, you have also the OPEX and quality control to see there. We are back to the multi-purpose robots. It covers also topics such as home automation, grid optimization...

What can we do with computers that is interesting then?

Well, an apple is an apple and so is a banana.

Do all the fresh products from a country needs to physically go to a centralized market to then be moved again near their production region?

In 2016, an apple may have to do a 2000km hook to be provided in the market near you. Stupefying.

But actually, it requires no computers, just that producers and consumers see their interest in having a decentralized market and putting in common efforts on logistics. And also ... funding. But, well is it in the interest of people who have the funds to disrupt the market if they benefit from the situation?

If your bank have the account of one of the great distributor will they give you money to potentially make them be poorer? Especially that you might want to incentivize your stake holders by giving more return hence resulting in thinning your assets on your bank account? Capitalism do not favor neither competition, nor liberalism.

So according to the desperate person trying to find me an opportunity as a coder that would be happy with me taking hot showers and offering a decent place to my wife, I have to put some water in my wine and to silence myself in front of my future employers.  They do not need to know.

Either I live by the rules or will live miserable with my ethic, because, that is not how the world works. (I have no ethics, just a big mouth to be honest).

The problem, is I know what I am doing. And I do know that the one who as the money makes the rules, and I have work force and knowledge and no capitals. And there are other coders with the same knowledge on the market.

I am not pleased that 90% of coding offers are related to unethical purposes.  I am not pleased people point finger at me as a coder for it. I am not part of the problem.

It is not me who is unethical. It is the society in which I live that consistently consider we should not voice our concerns because else we may call an evil such as Trump, Le Pen, UKIP, Putin... ruling the country. I will not let fear rule my life.

My blog is critic and people might think: shut it down, it makes you lose opportunity what are you searching for? A hot place to live in or feeling proud of yourself when you wake up?

Well, I have only one life on earth. I will not endure a life of moral pain hoping to be rewarded in the afterlife. I take this life to live plainly my life as a full human being living happily ever after even if it requires a little more efforts than just abiding to the rules blindly.

I am no sheep, I have a spine, and can carry a project to its end thanks to this and that is why I can make interesting code. That is the price to pay. No spine, no interesting code.

And yes, I am concerned when reading my thousands of job offers per week about the use made of the global pool or coders. We are clearly using coding in a more than questionable way. But, once again, chacun sa graisse and this in not mine, me I still want to take hot shower, and am satisfied to have a wife that prefers me when I am who I am.

She loves me this way and that is contributing a lot to my happiness and I just live without questioning myself that much, pretending to be ethical, while I am just socially inept with a big mouth. And to be honest: I don't care about what can happen tomorrow.

Modern Computer Science is obscurantism disguised as science

Recently I decided to get back to the basics and question my use of classes/frameworks.

I tried to find a definition of the word framework but weirdly this word is a tautology, no one knows what it is, but it refers at itself for something people use to get the work done through the use of external knowledge. But can you manipulate knowledge you do not understand?

This word has been broadening so much that it globally is a synonym of a shortcut for standing on the giant's shoulder without having to do the painful process of climbing painfully all the way up by learning. Framework are actually for me a synonym for an intellectual shortcut ; they are the foundation of cargo cult programming. And I want to illustrate it with a python code example to draw a wall clock without libraries except for importing constant (exponential and PI) and drawing.

So I will introduce an anti-framework that makes you have less dependency based on taking no shortcuts : science. Not the ones of computer science and university, the one that also is useful in the real world, hence a more useful tool than framework. Something that can help you compute solution with a pen and paper fast. And for which you can check the results of your code. The science taught in high school that requires no degrees and that we are supposed to know when we are given the responsibility to vote. The one that help you make enlightened decisions as a citizen for the future.

For the example I will use a simple use case with code: an analogic wall clock. I will treat different problems: 2D & 1D geometry, sexagesimal basis, drawing the hands, computing time without datetime.

Scientific reasoning to be understandable before coding requires that you explain what you are doing and how. To introduce the problem in a simple, yet consistent way so people do not understand the code, but the mental process to interpret the code, thus to define rigorously your concepts and definitions. The stuff Agile hates : explicit requirements and clear definitions of concepts, rigor.

What is time?

Time in its usual form hour/minute/second is inherited from Sumerian civilization. A civilization that was localted in Irak -whose archeological wonders occidental civilization took part in destroying- that has brought mathematical knowledge to the world thousands years ago. It was designed by people having no computers but knowledge of the fact earth is round, having simple use of fractions and basic geometry. Time cannot be manipulated without understanding that earth is round and that it revolves around the sun and that noon is dependent from your location.  12:00am is set on when the sun is at its zenith for a given place. Which is basically an invariant on a meridien. Giving time, is giving a relative position of earth according to the maximum potential exposition to the sun.

The base of 60/60 is useful for astronomers using sticks/shadows and is quite powerful in low tech context. 360° (minutes * seconds) is a measure of the rotation of the earth according to a reference (noon) and since the angular speed of earth is constant, it is linearly related to time. Time measure the relative angle from your position according to noon in a referential where earth is rotating around its north/south pole axis. It is periodic. It is thus a measure of phase/space. Usual time is a space measure.

The python time() function is an expression in a base 10 of the time elapsed since 1/1/1970 according to your geographical position without all political biases (except TZ).
Localtime is the correction with leap seconds, DST .... and politics. Something defined by arbitrary rules that is far to be a one best canonical way.

Each hand on a wall clock rotates with a speed according to its rank in the base.

Seconds rotates at the speed of a 60th of a turn per seconds.
Minutes are 60 time slower
Hours ... are 24 times slower, but by convention, we prefer to make it with a period of half.
Basis conversion be it base 10, 2, or sexagesimal is a CORE concept of computer science. It is a core requirement every developers should be able to do it without libraries.

I am gonna introduce a convenient tool for doing geometry : the Moivre formula that will do the heavy lifting :

exp( i * theta) = cos(theta) + i * sin(theta)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Complex_number

To understand the following code, understanding the geometrical relationship between complex notation, cartesian/polar coordinates requires learning and rigor. And there is not shortcut for it.

I don't know why, python is confusing j and i. And I hate IT, it is like a slap to the face of people using science.
i is defined by i² = -1 python decided to call it j
j is traditionally defined by a number such as  j**3 = -1 for which the imaginary part is positive. Thank you python for not respecting mathematical conventions, it makes this confusing.

I guess it falls into the tao of python
There should be one– and preferably only one –obvious way to do it.
Although that way may not be obvious at first unless you’re Dutch.

That is not the first time I have a beef with python community when it comes to respecting mathematical notations and their consistent use. I could dig this topic further, but it would be unfair to python which is not even the community with the worst practices.

So without further ado here is the commented code without the noise of colors. Brutal code.

My conclusion is frameworks, libraries make you dumb. It favors monkeys looking savant as much as pedantism in academic teaching is. People may try to point THIS is pedantic, but pedantism is about caring about the words and formalism, not the ideas and concept. It is like focusing on PEP8 instead of the correction of the code. Pedantism is not saying correction is important, it is annoying developers with PEP8.

My code is saying the earth is round, that it revolves around the sun with a constant rotational speed, that noon is when the sun is at its zenith and happens periodically, that I have an harmonic oscillator in my computer that is calibrated to deliver me time with a monotonic growing functions, that we use a 60/60 base since millennials to represent time, that most of the problem we encounter with times are either political or due to an insufficient understanding of its nature. And that we can use complex numbers to do powerful 2D geometry operation in a compact, yet exact way that does not require libraries or framework. Complex numbers operations USED to be hardwired in CPU. They became useless, because people stopped using them by ignorance, not because they stopped being useful.

Our actual problem is not computer raw power, but education. Every coders using datetime modules should be sacked : datetime operations are (out of the TZ insanity) basic base conversion and 1D operations of translations projections. If a coder do not understand what numbers are, what time is, the difference between representations and concepts why do you entrust them manipulating your data in the first place? What do you expect?

That a thousands monkey will write you the next Shakespeare novel if you throw enough bananas at the monkeys?

We live in a time of obscurantists people using advanced concepts that looks like science, but are not.

I still find with the examples used for teaching OOP counterproductive

After the stupid example with the taxonomy of the species/car/employees that makes you do a lot of inheritance one of the valid use case for OOP is 2D geometry : points & rectangles.

This is the python example in wiki.python.org
https://wiki.python.org/moin/PointsAndRectangles

Don't worry, python is one of the many language doing this class. It is an actual use case for learning classes.

200 lines of code and you do nothing. Not even fun

Except in python complex is a base type, and I learned the use of complex numbers when I was  in public high school in my sweet banlieue. (a place said to be full of delinquents and uneducated kids)

Then I thought : with just simple math how hard would it be to just draw two polygons one of which rotated with the python base types?
How hard is programming when you keep it simple?

Here is my answer in less than 10% of the initial number of lines of code and a drawing to illustrate how hard it is :

from PIL import Image, ImageDraw
# short constant names a la fortran
from cmath import pi as PI, e as E
I = complex("j")

to_x_y = lambda cpl: (cpl.real, cpl.imag)
im = Image.new("RGB", (512, 512), "white")
draw = ImageDraw.Draw(im)
rotation = E**(I*PI/3)
homothetia = min(im.size[0], im.size[1])
trans = homothetia/2
homothetia /= 2.5
polygone = (complex(0,0), complex(0,1), complex(1,1), complex(1,0), complex(0,0))
bigger = map(lambda x: x * homothetia + trans, polygone)
bigger_rotated = map(lambda x: x * rotation, bigger)
draw.line(map(to_x_y, bigger), "blue")
draw.line(map(to_x_y, bigger_rotated), "green")

im.save("this.png", "PNG")

I don't say classes are useless, I use them. But, I still have a hard time thinking of a simple  pedagogic example of their use. However, I see a lot of overuse of Object Oriented Programming to try to make people able to use concepts that are not accessible without basic knowledge. OOP is no shortcut for avoiding to learn math, or anything else. If you don't understand geometry and math, you will probably be whatever the quality of the class given unable to do any proper geometrical operations.

We need OOP. But the basic complex type far outweigh in usefulness any 2D geometry classes I see so far without requiring any dependencies.  And I never saw in 5 years complex types used even for doing 2D geometry, however it seems the alternative buzzword to OOP -including numpy- is so making you look data scientist and pro!

So what is the excuse again for not using something that works and is included in base types with no requirements for doing geometry when we say that games could be a nice way to bring teenagers to coding? Are we also gonna tell them learning is useless and that reinventing the square wheel is a good idea? Are we gonna tell them to not learn because we have libraries for everything?

For the fun I did an OOP facade to complex as point/rectangle but seriously, it is just pedantic and useless. But still 50% less lines and more useful than the initial example.

The social cumulative Ponzi scheme behind our society

Imagine a world that does not exist. An utopia. No a board game. Let's gamify life and make you able to build either a dystopia or an utopia.

People work to prove things like they are the best and get a reward according to rules, and the competition is fair through market/rules, hence the best issues happens to the society.

Market can be regulated (socialism) or regulated (liberalism). (no typo here, a market requires perfect symmetry of information for the buyers whatever the market, hence a regulation either by normalization (liberalism: IEEE, IETF, ISO, CE) or by institutions (socialism: FDA, SEC, FCC)) and often both. Social liberalism is the norm almost everywhere nowadays. So we have a kind of regulation based model, hence we can gamify it.

A real market works better if people learn to learn from feedbacks. Which at my experience happens after you fail your first business. Natural first time winner in business get blinded easily. Failing is very important to learn. Like heroin amazing first shot seems to be the curse of every former heroin addict : the kiss of death.  The problem with life, is you have only one. So a game could be cool if it taught you about the effect of your actions without having to actually do it. Just like a flight simulator but for life.

Failing costs money. You need to invest either in education, or culture, or experimentation, resources, or luck  to be even authorized to fail. You need money to live, and there is no unlimited credits. (kof kof, except if you borrow money that doesn't exist from the future and enslave your kids to pay your debts, (kof, kof))

If we were to model what makes a successful business man, we would have to randomly pickup a factor for the remuneration of success apart from the intrinsic quality to ship an ideal product which is fucking luck. Something randomly picked but deterministic. The inner talent. The random capacity at being good at something. And also a random context that deterministicly biases the expression of the talent. The conjunction of talent and opportunity modeled by 2 main equally random variables that are not coupled initially.

You see, here in Montréal in café concert, the music is awesome from garage band. In France shitty music makes it to the top. I mean, they work there instruments. They are more often in bars to play music than to brag about playing music.

Why aren't "better" musicians not making it to the top? Because they don't have access to the market the same way... I would say randomly. Why are the french musician so shitty? Maybe because they lack of competition based on objective skills but on random property (being born there).

How would you explain that market can reach local dysfunctional optimum with objective measure of better.

You thus have to make a model based on partly predictable success based on skills and a random part based on all the dimensions we cannot control. Basically success in business is determined by action influencing the outcome of a random dice.  Just like a stupid dice roll at D&D. Basically I claim real life can be modeled as a MMORPG based on random characteristics.

So let's try to play this game with dices and a board.

Every player on the market would be given sets of random properties : age, culture, sex, geography, family history, INT, STR.... and a proficiency skill (a generator of production) that would express the intrinsic objective genius of the person. And its contextual luck bias. Talent could be expressed as the speed at which it can generate capital per "fixed turn". Like a gifted musician can produce a good song ten times faster than another one, and in dysfunctional culture (so it has to be updated according to the context) one hundred times faster. And a good musician may be a good sound engineer, and probably better than a randomly deaf person.

The context is the place, the time, the age of the players, and the biases. It changes all the values of genius deterministicly by influencing your probability of sucess per dice trhows. But intrinsic genius growth would tend to be kind of chaotic according to the initial conditions. It is your capacity to generate HP.

Then, there would have to be Hit Points or ... Capital. At 0, you don't play anymore and you are condemned to watch the game until the end, helplessly unless the other players decide otherwise, by transferring HP. Every transfers has at least a fixed cost.

The game would begin by choosing an hidden card taken randomly called "life goals" taken from a pile randomly specifically tailored dream according to your context. The most common being I want to live a life that favours me. It is called competition. Others would be, I wake up being mere theresa ... Cooperation. And Others would be I just want to play because I am there, and it could be fun. Or I don't care about the game, just leave me alone, games are BORING. In fact it would be not a card. But the reality.

You could with enough point in the game actually buy the card to leave the board game you had been forced into.

The problem in this game, is that people cannot chose and they are forced into it because of the 0 limit also called poverty. They can be sided. And it is not a game, it is a social experiment on the submission to the authority of the rule. Like Milgram and the SF prison experiments, but on our submission to our own culture.

Actually nothing prevents the hostage of flipping the board and say fuck you. Nothing prevents the over player to stop the pain of the game and go take a pizza.

But, if I was to make this game I would make it painfully realtime slow. Like you need 7min to cover any year after the starting point. And it requires hours before you can roll the dices triggered by decisions taken years before.

I would also enable people favoured by luck to be able to rig the game to make it funnier. You could even invest in tweaking luck in your favour.

Like education could grow your revealed genius (which expresses the efficiency of your genius according to a context). You could buy extra turns like going in schools with influential future business man to higher the probability of rolling dices in the section finding an investor. You would level up faster by buying DLC bonus.

You see, this kind of late game advantage based on amplification of small increase of stats is exactly like leagues of legend. Ask any players, it is part of the game to choose wisely and to use this to reinforce your natural skills. And cumulative effects are awesome. Even if there are based on random events (like you being better at farming then your opponent, or your kill ratio).

You could also influence on global variables on the side of the board that would be random stuff. Like sex discrimination, fashion, the positive or negative impact of culture on the access to market according to your context. Like a clever LoL player.

Now, imagine you have a second sets of guinea pig spawning randomly in the middle of the party to relieve the players. We will call them kids.

They can share with less friction in HP. They cab transfer HP with members of their family. By either solidarity or theft. People could decide to throw dice for either transfering or stealing money.

Family is anything the random game would find the most probable according to your context. Even a carpenter could be the father of a son that is not his. Still actions are always taken by random dices on predetermined success table varying with your initial random throw. But now you can influence it within game negotiations.

But, the wealthiest characters at some point of the game have more probability to change the game thanks to the accumulation of advantage according to time.

So you see, I have played enough monopoly and diplomacy game to know what this game would do without even DLC.

It would make every one throw at each others throats very fast.

Okay what are the irritating effects in this gameplay?

There obviously a social pressure for playing games. And some people sure have a lot of fun.

But with less capital in game initially, you know you will play less in real life. IT IS BORING.

The reason to be bored? Random luck at initial dice throw to chose your characteristics determine your ability to play.  And the newest players are guaranteed to have less luck than the first generation. People enter the games with substantially less luck to eventually play the games but are  forced to stay at a table event as painfully boring as a family dinner where everybody else have fun but you without having the right to open your mouth.

And at the beginning of the game it is fun. You can make a self taught kids from a shanty town wins the game against a king. The fun in games is about going against the destiny. It is funnier to win when you came in unfavorable position. And that what are all entrepreneurship story telling about. Winning against the odd. Proving by good choices you can influence the outcome in your favour. It is a positive self boosting ego game of competition. And competition is sure fun.

But,  this game will cumulatively force more bored players to be inactive at the side of the tables while the rules get increasingly in their clear disadvantage.  The more the game will evolve, the less the capacity of incoming late players will be driven by nothing else than luck, thanks to the mechanism of frictionless propagation  of the HP between families.

One of the winning strategy is of course when you are still playing and in capacity of influencing luck (genius with poor initial characteritic or the opposite) to make gaming alliance based on extending the notions of family and trading your genius for luck, or luck for having a genius.

Hence creating factions based on common characteristics : gender, age, nation of birth, of location, religion, random background point... And you create a coupling with luck and genius. Late player game will have their initial luck being overly amplified and your genius factor will be useless. The only thing that will matter will be the diplomacy game you are forced out because of lack of HP.

And at one point, like in diplomacy you do know that to make the new family emerge, you have to prepare privacy and the possibility to make alliances that might include theft of your own "initial" family to inherit characteristic from a new blended family. Yeah, betrayal is being more and more incentived and exacerbated over time. They are game incentives to betray more in frequency and amplitude over time.

You could imagine a whole generation of post war conflicting families (the liberal and socialist) deciding to base the payment of retirement at the detriment of their own kids. And then their kids by weired propagation of consequences having to betray them later (in a its you or its me fashion).

You could imagine a lot things. Those who played diplomacy knows how this kind of games destroys friendship ans solidarity in real life.

So the more the games will evolve, the less fun there will be for a vast majority. But for the one still in competition the game would become more intense and fun. And betrayal will become more common. And some people will grind their teeth preparing to betray in order to play a little. Higher betrayal for smaller gains.

There will be players forced to stay hours without even given the opportunity to play a turn.  Just because of a random initial choice. And attentive observers will notice that the game will be changing the players rationality in real life.

So you see, sometimes, the problem is not about the players, nor about the game itself.

It is about getting lost in the game and not thinking about the effect not on the personae incarnated but on the human forced to play this game.

 The more this competitive game evolve, the funnier it is and more intense... for less and less players.

I think time is the accident of the accident. And that some people have less time in their life because they are prevented to play the game of life. Because they are at the side of the table seeing people having fun and being prevented to run at the outside whatever kind of other games they may wish to play. It is not the game that is bad. It is forcing in pretending to love this game. Life is the result of our meaningful actions. By not letting people play the game of life, people are denied life. Randomly.
And I think an actual games based on our actual world would prove any hardcore players that it is not gaming that sux, it is the rules we make and how we are loosing the fun of a tad of competition.

It is not how we play nicely a shitty game that can bend this game, it is is in thinking we are forced to play this game in the first place. The game can be either influenced from the inside and it can be fun, but also, you should also be given the right to not play a game. And we should remember we get modified either positively (3D orientation) or negatively (???) by games. They can effect us.

However we could avoid the systematical cumulative boringness of the game by removing the amplification of randomness over time. Pure lottery is not a fun game to play when you have no tickets a glass of water and are forced to see people having super prices, wines and meal while you are forced to stay hearing boring discussions about how the game is fun by tweaking on small diminishing part of talent.

Basically, private property and inheritance should be capped at an acceptable level of randomness. Because a too deterministic game would be boring too.

I think we could teach a lot by making a board game for all kids in the world that would help them understand a good model of their life to come. GURPS and the creator of diplomacy are my two objective choices with Gary Gigax for this task. Just to be sure to have unicorns and troll eventually and some dragons.

Not only to depress them a tad, but also to give them hope in understanding how that they can rig the rules to increase the maximum fun for every players in and out of the games. I think that teaching kids a game that result in improving the game, teaching them how randomness and potential can influence future could be a good idea. Teaching them about the boredom of arbitrary world based on purely deterministic rules does not make funny games nor the equally boring world of pure randomness. There has to be a balance in the rules. But a constant for all kids' heart : it is funnier sharing the fun. It is a kind of a way modeling in physics, we just imagine something and validate it could work by reproducing in experiments and checking with the real world. Game should help in testing life's choice.

I say to everyone that people should accept the intrinsic unfairness of the randomness of the world as a given. We should value it. We should just maybe think of controlling it a way that makes it funnier for every players. We should accept for the sake of fun a part of symbolic limited randomness in socially randomly fixed competition where everyone could shine based on their random "talents". Like a nice free kermess for kids or a mario party where you could always choose not to play.

We could make a better society if we remembered the fun we had playing games as kids, and what it means having fun together.

Without regard for genius or randomness. A game where even the unluckiest would have fun.

But nowadays, the game board is increasingly boring for most of the players except a few  one chosen by luck reducing the numbers of players more every turn.

The days when Agile was not agile but working.

I was thinking of bruce perens words on the community of geeks as being plagued by brillant tech with awful social skills. And I was wondering, what if he was right?

What good a socialization event would do except put them out of ease?

And then, something struck me. I had already seen and been involved in this kind of process. But it was working, with exactly the same kind of crowd, yet more feminine.

At Rider's University during an internship in the 90's.  In the chemistry department. And now that I think of it it was quite a widespread technique to have this kind of meeting in research.

They were same, but very different. But same.

All the students would meet up at workly stages for undergraduate, monthly stages for PhDs, and researchers would have some meeting (especially for asking funding).

For us interns it was :
- explain in simple words to the other team your context;
- what is fun/exciting?
- what did you planed;
- how did you do so far;
- What are your successes and your difficulties.

Our errors were valued because science is experimental science is a lot of dealing with bugs either in the equations, the instruments, the theory, and 1per millions of a time the physical world itself. And errors are carefully considered because sometimes they can turn into pure gold. Especially the "World BUG Bingo". This one means either breakthrough or fraud

Each team would have a speaker that rotates to present the advance of the work. At the end, people would ask questions to each others and answers. Sometime teams would need or share solutions from other teams. There was no "I" but "We". Teacher would try to no open the mouth (if solution involving not having them to work on it, it could be cool).

It was working.

With the same kind of crowd with more mixed genders than what we have in IT industry.

Teachers would pick some slides, go to a progress meeting boards, say how every one is doing fine, or that we have time to plan to help them later. And then would do their other jobs that were funnier.

So all seeming equal except the organization of work in an university and in IT for doing research and development, I claim Agile could be the problem here. (this is a trick, reasoning absurdly)

Agile clearly looks like "progress reports" from university BUT the MMA individual hardcore fight on technical and social level version.  Encouraging individual skills much more than carebear version of the dodge ball.

Agile implies a role playing game with a pointing finger game inside ... a competitive game for the top of the hill. There is a "I" and no collective responsibilities. Staline would have loved the sovietic  citizens to embrace this embarrassing self trial. Blame the tools, the people, do not question the organization of work. Nice one.

University report force people to act as a a team and coalesce the success and failure to the team as a whole for the length of a project you are bound to the destiny of the project.

It also put the work and its importance on the front of the stage. Let me tell you, it is much more exciting to work on supra-conductor type II and non stoechiometric  values in doping oxyde when you know that if ever it proved good enough supra-conductor at room temperature the impact on the Ohm law are amazing, and thus you can deliver cheaper electricity.

It is more exciting than coding the nth secured with shell/SQL injection big brother tools.

Since, results are the only thing that matters and solidarity was valued (in this university) it developed a culture of cooperation and thus there was an incentive to call for help. And being helped as much as helping was valued. Okay, and teachers were smart and lazy at this place.

So as a lot of scientific apprentice I learnt to value more the project delivery other the methodology in the sneaky ways of a physicist in front of an equation.

This culture of loving crafting over career has put me in a lot of fights.

Because I think that inability to deliver in IT is like conway's law suggest it an organizational problem.

IT companies have a super cow power of corrupting any kind of good idea it touches into crap. The same way the catholic church made wedding degenerates when it touched it. And always ends up saying this is no crap; this is the fertilizer of the next gen solutions. And everybody believe.

I have seen my share of project work. Funnily enough the further you are from computer scientists you are and new "efficient" tools or management technique the better chance of actual delivering.

IT industry seems to have a corporate culture that is toxic. And neither Agile nor ISO nor IEEE nor anything technical is going to change it.

It is deeply rooted in its idealization of the chain of value of their business. I did ISO. It can work. Except in IT business. Any way all our legal contract says we have no financial nor legal liabilities, so what is then a "non conformity", a default? There is no need for QA when you are legally not tied to non conformities in your production.

Their ideal business model -start up- is sometimes looking like a true psychopathic economical agent. With (however long are their "our value/vision web page) a total disdain for the development either of their own workers or even the community.

Sometimes when I look at ISIS organization, I have the feeling the terrorists are turning into startup...which means that they already lost since they are turning into their worst nightmare. Daesh is already dying, they are the living proof they are an occidental organization using all the worst techniques they say to be immoral. The more they use, the more they change themselves in their enemy. At least, IT is useful for fighting against terrorism on one domain.

What are the hint of psychopathy among startup?

I never saw an end user being correctly interviewed and taking care of their need.

I never saw a startup thinking it was alright to be dedicated to passions balancing your life and wishing for a traditional way of life rather than success. I love to play music, ride my bike, and in return it make me more creative and happy. Why is my life choice not accepted? I have the right to live selfishly passionate and put my passions on a pedestal.

Startup resort a lot to brainwashing techniques in order to not pay extra hours, have coders crunching at 60hrs/week for weeks, getting to pay less for driving ethical problems. Companies are only about making money you know?

Startup love the Stokholm syndroma. A brilliant developer is needed for the deal? We will tie him for 3 years on a job he hates for the glory of taking one for the team. No compensation required.

IT don't care about the spirit of the law. They just care to maximize their interest by finding loopholes in rules. Airbn'b, Uber, amazon ... all of these companies have been using loopholes and taken part in the impoverishment of traditional business that are harder to build. Ant builded business. The business of the less fortunate.

They behave like grasshopers. And after the ants are bankrupted, they hire them and since they destroyed their market at a lower price to do the same jobs, they now have a monopoly, making them increase their income for just being an intermediate. It is economical vandalism that will take decades to undo.

Modern startups are just legal extortions, illegal surveillance, tax avoidance ... IT has become the modern days Sin city. I sometimes wish to answer I am professional assassin instead of saying I code.

(back on track) I don't say Agile is bad. I just say gives anything that could be good in the hand of a murderous psychopath can be turn it into a torture instrument.

I don't blame agile for its lack of worth. I blame IT toxic culture, and yet even more dangerous lack of moral conscience among the developer that are supposed to be smart and critical.

Especially the one from free open source software who have been bribed by organization like mozilla, apple, google and whatever for peanuts.

What about the solution?

The solution which was in fact closer to a solid is retired.

Good teachers are gold. Especially that I hate teachers. I always rant about teachers.

Except the very very minority that has nothing to do in universities that have also a toxic culture. I think passionate sharing people that love to be happy and paid reasonably are assets. Exactly not the kind of "good IT employee".

I belong to the craftsman, not  the professional. I think that our professional culture is bad and is the problem underlying the Agile methodology.

I think that ritual of honest conversation don't worth true honest conversations. For this, you need rules that are not rigged towards accepted behaviour vs taboo one.

I think nothing based on honesty and some ethic can be working in a culture that has a soft tooth for deceptive lies.

Can anyone prove IT has been improving our societies, our daily jobs, our economical growth, our ecological footprint?

No.

The first lie of IT is pretending without measure it is an improvement and an economical revolution.

So far, it is a financial revolution that benefits the distributors and the man in the middle to make more efficient collection from artificial monopolies  based on crushing oldly established hard to build business model using the laws as a lever in a close to irreversible way.

We know we win parasites, we also loose long to build stable business.

Don't let be fooled by techniques, language, new paradigms. It is all about doing stuffs, and being smart.

Your invention can improve or harm the world, be careful to whom you give them too.

Programmers of the world: please grow either a pair of steak or balls, but maybe if you are that smart, begin to question the world around you.

Be like Bill

Be smart,

And don't be impressed by a meme telling you to shut your mouth;

Think...

Thinking is already disobeying.

The cloudy future of IT

What is the common point between a computer, a VW diesel, a nuclear plant and me cooking, playing bass or coding?

My question is both what is an amateur and a professional, and why he does matter that knowledge in IT is in a way of death by kludges and complexity that makes it indistinguishable from evil practices of proprietary firms.

Most people when asked about who invented Free/Open Source Sofware (FOSS for convenience) tends to either quote the extrovert knows as Richard Stallman (FSF) or the more invisble K. Thompson and how the first UNIX sources contaminated the sane students of Berkeley where LSD was also developed at the same time (I am sure it is no coincidence).

I strongly disagree. The true genius is Bill Gates in 1976 he crafted the expectation of IP protection. The beauty of the letter to the hobbyist may make me cry a (crocodile) tear. It is the invention of proprietary software, a realm in which the user is denied to understand how things works. But also the right for the computer industry to derogate to any legal and financial obligation in commercial contract.

It is justified by a diffused "pain of the creator stolen by parasits".

My french heart double its speed rate. This music is such an ode to the talk of the Baron de Beaumarchais justifying the need of creating a special kind of protection for the artists. Yeah, poor Baron de Beaumarchais. A noble from the ancien régime smuggling weapons to the USA under Louis XVI, than voting against the privileges, than begging the National Assembly to reinstate privileges for the poor authors.

Göbbels first rules: the bigger the bullshit, the better.

So.

I learnt VHDL, SPICE, MATLAB, Assembly 68K, graph theory, algebrae, electronics, and even how electrons behave in semi conductors . I drew and learnt how to design and program interfaces 20 years ago.  At the Silicium layer.

Nowadays, I am a coder.   And something is bugging me.

I am the kind of person that prefers to keep every evils in their bottles. One of the devil I hate is ignorance. I am a control freak. I think I am professional because that is what differentiate me from an amateur: control of the costs, and their is no control without understanding.

 Let me explain you why I don't believe in self driven cars: because nuclear plants should not be automated.

First it is epistemological: I think that as much the myth of the golem, the mechanical turk, or Galathea's myth, we all have a fascination for creating life. And so far it has always failed. I don't say it will always fail forever. I say that the expectancy to reach a goal = 2 times the period since the beginning of trying. You will check the average of my expectancy will be the exact time of completion.

I love to have tricks to be right. Logical thinking and understanding, having a consistent representation of a problem is a nice trick.

So my first almost tautological argument is I think it will take 2500 more years before human beings are able to create life so that my predictions whatever the topics are always consistent with observable facts. (yes, it is a tad of a fallacy, proof by the self biting snake)

Second and more important. If you are not scared by a market full of liquidities, bubbles and the recession, let's remind a calm talk I had in Paris with Michel Volles.

This guy had been consulted for the automation of nuclear plant, and he strongly advocated against full automation like in japan or in an Airbus.

He says; well software can have bugs. It is better if human are used to do stuff in a semi automatic way (that do not expose them of course) so that they know how to adapt.
Even crude mechanics has got troubles. But when problem comes instead of handling layers of complexity they still know how it works. And you wish that nuclear plant operators control tightly and have a great confidence in themselves more than the software.

Well, France being full of nuclear plants, and having grown up during cold war, I am a little more receptive than average on the topic.

What is the relationship with self driven cars?

At a lower scale than nuclear plant, self driven cars are life threatening. They can reach the kinetic energy of a 75mm round, and gasoil is fucking exothermic and dense in energy.

Let's talk about trust.

Do you trust stuff you don't understand? I don't. In the name of science I nearly killed myself by being clumsy and doing experimentation with either highly energetic electromagnetic beams that if the claims for electromagnetic pollution is true, I am dead or bacteria.

I trusted my books, and people dying stupidly (like Nobel) for my safety. Stupid deaths by over trusting yourself are paving the road of science.

Would car manufacturer lie to you regarding the software they put in their car.

Can you trust Nissan, VW, General Motors to not tamper with the software in their car in a way that could lie?

Oh. You cannot.

And cars are really frightening in terms of potential arm it can do. So what about insurances? Will Lloyds, Munchen Re will accept to cover this risk?

Insurance is the modern license to kill, mathematician providing enough firepower of layers to claim that death was NOT avoidable by the virtue of probable chains of causality covered by obligation of means in the contract. Thus, someone is dead, but you don't go to jail. You pay someone, that will pay the lawyers and the expected claims of victims.

Have you read a software licence?

What is the common point between FOSS and the industry?

They both decline any legal liability concerning the consequence of the use of the software.

java license either went as far as explicitly denying people to use java for medical appliance...

And this is where I think I am having a professional opinion. As long as software industry refuse to see itself bounded by the legal liability of considering that they are responsible of the correct behavior of their product there is a problem.

The more we rely on incorrect stacks that cannot be covered by any insurance or true guaranties it works then the effect of the non predictability rises.

The financial effect is clear: it is not possible to estimate a reasonable insurance cover for software industry in case a self driven cars kills someone. Companies will be liable since they did not do everything possible to guarantee death would be impossible.

Is planning 1 death out of 1 millions instead of 10 000 indiscriminates deaths per year better? Ksss, you have to be a real psychopath to know you are gonna kill 1 to save 9999... Plus, in face of the law you still premeditated death. Why this one? Who gave the software manufacturer the right to chose who are going to die and to live? In the absurd hypothesis they finally achieve self driving cars, I will call out these people has psychopathic murderers anyway.

But you know, I am simple man (yes, Lynnird skynnird shite, I am a tad soft inside, U know?).

I used to tweak anythings in the house and like engines, computers, electric boards, radios, electric pinballs, my bike, cooking ....

And  I learnt. I could understand and control. That maybe one of the reason I love my bike. I don't fear to break anything far from civilization. I can repair almost anything, and predict the worst. I have control. I trust it.

I love cooking, because I did not obsoleted. I love music, because it is all about not caring about the technic and discipline, I loved understanding that the shape and geometry of things on an electronic boards related to their functions or side effects.

There is one domain though that bugs me: it is IT industry.

You see I see a lot of analog organization that have the same constraints  as IT and don't fail:
- entertainment delivers their show on time (creativity, variety in size, competitiveness, heavy requirements/logistic, heavy specifications);
- cooking has incorporated a lot of foreign tastes and technics in the last decades, still, the knowledge are stable, and they don't make customers sign an agreement it will be okay if they die of a food intoxication;
- to survive extreme condition and a slow but steady decrease in quality since decades, people reverted to using the most simple form of bike as used 1 century ago, this is the rise of the fixie;
-  every industry so far is facing technical (financial) debt forcing them to do incorrect things, like the aeronautical industry making their plane inspected in less pushy places. Still, if unluckily an accident were to happen, the industry would feel hurt, and bad. They would feel guilt and empathy for their users.
- computer industry have been consistently over promising and under delivering: who remember the promises of IBM in 1942 to have a mechanical typesetter that would translate without a mistake what you dictate? Me. The ultimate OS where you write once and compile everywhere? .... The standard that will stand the test of time?

No seriously this one piss me off.

Imagine you are a small company that invest in the future. A middle size business.

You buy an expensive automate for doing industry standard metal shaping. Your investment may require 30 years of use. You choose the RIGHT technology: RS232, floppy disk.

Now, 30 years later, all these technology disappear in the name of so called simplification that are the opposite of any simplification.

USB, xmpp, firewire, pci... They solve some picky problem (like dynamic resource allocation of IO and IRQ), but at the cost of levels of indirections, half respected norms half specified ...

I mean, seriously, secured data on an USB drive?

Just to be a USB client, you have to have an insanely complex stack of code and wires on your board. It requires highly privileged access on the computer server side, AND you are on a broadcasted signal, thus every one on the USB ring can spy on you. And thanks to the diminishing quality of capacitors in computer, it could even tap on other signals.

Progress my ass.

Programming low level interface for RS232 bare bone is easier than USB and it involves less proxy.

The limits were not electrics or technical. It just that additionnal graved silicium costs less than a 1$ connector.

And while the psychopathic software/hardware industry pushes for always lower cycle of "progress", real industries having less liquidities on the market (thus less investment) are increasing their cycles for renewing their tools. Including their hardware and software. It is legitimate a windows 3.1 from 1992 can still be running in an airport. Fuck IT industry, wake up!

And how can software industry not collapse of being so far from the real need of the market?

Except the fact it requires to lack a little bit of "economical" lack of empathy, I may hazard that the 2007 crisis is not over and we have bubbles everywhere one of them being in the education and exploding right now.

First things, how do their survive their cash burn rates without tangible proof of their positive impacts on the activity of their customers?

Well, it is called Venture Capitalism. The market is full of cheap money, so they invest irrationally in a market for which regulations are scarce (safety, audit) and where just a minimal return investment is expected. You just want to outperform the very low interest rates of the national bonds.

In regard to the market, IT require very few investments: almost only brain. KPEX = 0. And benefits are rents. It makes projections of expected benefits very easy.

70 years ago there was a war. Brilliant people were called as officers, soldiers, nurses ... And people on battle front tends to die.

The baby boomer that resulted were caught in an aspiration of skilled workers whatever the education was. But the very small differential resulted in huge difference. My father son of a mason that had good grades in primary school was almost guarantied to be a surgeon if he kept up the good works and he did.

The climax of this era is 1968. A lot of things happened this year around the world. A pacific revolution of hopeful hippies that will become sharkiest marketers of the world.

Our parents experienced an artificial situation where education as a social ladder was working because the competition on the market side of the demand was fierce. And strong of their experience, they indebted the 3 next generations in costly heavily subsidized education system (be it private or public). For Europeans it is public debt, USA private debts. And they brainwashed kids around the world with "passe ton bac d'abord... better have your exams if you don't want to end up like this"

The problem is the education has been saturated. And the system has failed in both cases to give an incentive for a fair and square competition. When the market is saturated, the criteria for selection become arbitrary: sex, look, place of birth, age... weirdly enough never costs. Else given both equally talented coders one a black muslim girl and an the other one an ivy league student, you would pick the one you can pay objectively less. Thus, given the discrimination, if the agent on the market of human resources in IT were rational they would pick the cheapest one that is equally talented. Thus the market would always tend towards less discrimination. Which is not the case...

Maybe also, our capitalism may not be able to reform itself for better work organization like toyota. Maybe the revolution of global mass education is hitting right now. And maybe it does not look like the promised land: while the kids of the masses were studying, it seems the kids of the wealthiest were also studying. So, proletarian just became pro-net-arian. Education system does not resorb social inequality it let them unchanged in a shifting world. Like a never ending screw, globally moving, locally invariant. A vast majority of the society have to work for the benefit of in an inharmoniously shared minority.

So every one blindingly force their belief of people in a bubble to the economy. Something of russian doll. Where every bubble has a bubble in it or could lead to bubbles.

- people with diploma expect their remuneration to not reflect the absence of  scarcity of the market;
- capitalism expect people with the knowledge of the financial system to agree on an unfair sharing of the values (people with education can do math and be troubling);
- customers expect things to work and respect education, else it would be unfair they loose 10 years of their life expectancy doing their job for 25% of the wages of coder;
- companies expect by screwing their margins in reaching more customers on a market already depressed it will help them make sustainable profits;
- financial market expect a raise of their dividends while the world is in recession and is betting on a global improvement since 8 years;
- IT seems to not notice that the 40$ / barrel of oil when there is a war close to the biggest producers in the world advocates for thinking very hard in terms of watt per actual watt gained and not flops. As long as we create our thermometer for measuring our efficiency based on how much we efficiently loose CPU cycles, we are dooomed.
- wealthy people expect the collectivity to leave them alone and not demand anything to them in terms of social responsability... while they expect to be granted even more power.

Collectively I am more than concerned. But who am I to claim I am the only person not being crazy? Everybody knows that thinking you are normal is the early signs of paranoid delirium.

Individually, I am beginning to think about opening a shop called "introuvables" specializing in dealing cheap products of quality by making a network of franchise sending each other container with local products: cheap polars/wine vs maple syrup/cheese... Just the introuvables. In some place it will be 1 product, in other 100. A place where to find cheap AND good product according to your market.

Or a restaurant called "la Cantine Luddite". Cheap huge quantity of food with taste that requires hours of preparation and cheap ingredients like boeuf bourguigon, pot au feu, couscous .... and go for serving as in an english pub (collective portions to diminsh costs and collective serving and incitation for people to share). No computer allowed, all smartphones being hacked in permanent DoS with a sophisticated electronic appliance called heavy hammer.

Or a one man show.

You know, I don't care. If it turns that bad, I can still do my show in the street as a living. I'd rather be an happy beggar if events required it than an overstressed soon to die from infarctus modern worker.

I guess feeling confident in your capacity to adapt is a requirement for adaptation.

Yes, the future of IT maybe cloudy, but mine is not.

You still can sing in the rain and lough at clouds.
